Thinking of oneself and thinking of Jesus
Volume 11

Jesus- As I was praying, my blessed Jesus told me: “My daughter, the thought of oneself makes the soul
smaller, and from her littleness she measures my greatness, almost wanting to constrain Me. On the other hand,
one who does not think of herself but thinks of Me becomes greater within my immensity and renders Me the
honor due to Me.”

Scripture Meditation- For by the grace given to me I bid every one among you not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think with sober judgment, each according to the measure of faith which God has assigned him. (Romans 12:3)

Prayer Reflection- O Lord we love You, we praise You, we adore You because in our humans wills, disconnected from You, boy do we love to think about and talk about ourselves. As a matter of fact that can be all that we do. What was that Toby Keith song, “I want to talk about me, I want to talk about I”? Yet instead of talking and thinking about an immense God, there we are. focused on our own little lives and our worlds become small. Self focused and self absorbed, we fall into anxiety, worry, fear, complaints, negativity, and yes sin. In Romans we are exhorted not to think too highly of ourselves. In the Book of Heaven we are told of our nothingness. We are nothing and You are all! And it is in this beloved (to You) nothingness that we give You Glory and You increase our capacity for greatness which is really Your Greatness reigning in us! Let us humble ourselves and in due time You will exult us in Your Divine Will (1 Peter 5:6).
